5 Arnside Accommodation Tips

cathgresty

If you are planning a trip to stunningly scenic Arnside, here’s 5 Arnside Accommodation Tips for you to help you ensure you find the right place to stay for your needs and budget:

1.      CHECK THE REVIEWS

It’s really easy and quick to check out how other people rate each place you can stay within Arnside. Typically speaking, if you see a score of 4/5 or less, or of lower than 8/10, that’s probably a bit of a concern. Most places in Arnside are scoring at this level or higher, but if you find a place you were considering that rates at 3 point something or seven point something, that’s discouraging when you can find better accommodation in Arnside. Obviously, things can get quite booked up at some points, in which case you might have less choice, but normally you should check the reviews on Google or on booking sites before you proceed and book.

2.      CHECK THE BIG BOOKING SITES

While market data share for holiday accommodation sites is hard to find, most sources suggest that Airbnb has by far the biggest market share, with Booking.com quite some way behind in second place. Because Airbnb gets the most business in general, we suggest you start your Arnside accommodation search there. Normally you will find what you need on their site, but, if it’s a particularly busy time you may want to check other sites.

3.      CHECK FOR INDEPENDENT LISTINGS

Of course these big booking sites are very useful, but not everybody likes using them. They do charge fees, and as such you may find you can book cheaper accommodation with more flexible terms via direct bookings, so we do recommend you go beyond the first few big search listings on Google, and head onto the second and third pages of the search results, and you may find ways to book directly and to reduce the overall cost for booking exactly the same place to stay.

4.      CONSIDER ACCOMMODATION LOCATION CAREFULLY

Arnside can get a bit busy during peak season i.e. school holidays and bank holiday weekends. So when choosing your accommodation, you should have a bit of a think about what you really want. The estuary front in Arnside can offer beautiful views, but that comes with more noise and bustle. Whereas staying just 100 metres back from the front can offer a much more peaceful stay – that’s one of the reasons why our 5-star rated Belmont, Arnside accommodation is so popular – we are literally 100 metres away from The Albion pub on the front, but you wouldn’t know that on a busy day.

5.      LOOK FOR DISCOUNTS FOR LONGER STAYS

If you’re staying for 5 nights or more in the same Arnside accommodation, you shouldn’t usually be paying the normal per nightly price. If you plan to stay for a week or longer, you should be negotiating an extended stay rate. There are no hard or fast rules on this, but we would suggest that for a longer stay you should be getting in the region of 20% off the nightly price.
